Kitchen projects in Koh Samui

Most kitchens on Samui go into villas, resort residences and rental units, and almost all of them share two conditions: the sea is close and everything arrives by boat. Both change how a kitchen is specified rather than how it is designed. Hardware is chosen for salt air, worktops for hard light, and the build is timed around delivery rather than the other way round. We measure, design and select materials from the island, then fit on site, which keeps the number of things travelling across the water to a minimum.

Process

How a Samui Kitchen Gets Built

  1. 1

    Survey on site

every villa on this island is a one-off, so nothing is assumed from a floor plan. We measure the room, check how the kitchen opens to the terrace, and note the access route the cabinetry will have to travel

  2. 2

    Design and materials

drawings, revisions and a 3D visualisation, with the material shortlist narrowed by how exposed the property is. A house above the beach is specified differently from one set back in the hills

  3. 3

    Production and delivery

cabinetry is made to the survey and shipped across in one planned consignment. Delivery is booked around the crossing, not squeezed in afterwards

  4. 4

    Fitting and aftercare

fitted on site by the team that measured it, and we stay reachable on the island once the kitchen is in

Getting a Kitchen Across to the Island

There is no bridge, so every cabinet, worktop and appliance crosses on a ferry. In practice that means two things. First, a kitchen travels as one consignment rather than in pieces, because a forgotten panel is not a same-day fix. Second, the crossing sits inside the schedule as a fixed step with its own booking, and weather can move it. Add to that the last stretch of road, which on parts of the island is steep and narrow enough that a large lorry cannot reach the door. We check that on the survey, not on delivery day.
