Where We Work in Thailand

Section 01

Where We Work in Thailand

Most of our work sits along the coast and on the islands, where the majority of villas and second homes are. We also take projects in Bangkok and further north, and distance on its own is rarely the thing that decides whether a job makes sense. Access does. A ground-floor villa four hours away is often simpler than a condominium twenty minutes from the workshop with one service lift and a two-hour window to use it. Tell us the address and the building type and we will tell you honestly how it works.

Section 03

How a Project Works at a Distance

The parts that need someone in the room are the survey and the fitting. Everything between them, the drawings, the revisions, the material choices, happens just as well over a call and a shared set of plans, and a lot of our clients approve a design from another country entirely. What matters is that the measurements are taken properly at the start, because a kitchen is cut to those numbers and there is no adjusting on site. If you are buying off-plan or the property is still being built, tell us early rather than at the end.

Section 04

Condominium Rules Worth Checking First

Most condominium buildings here have rules about renovation work, and they are worth reading before anything is ordered rather than after. The usual ones: permitted working hours, which are often weekdays only, a deposit held by the juristic office, notice given to the management before the first delivery, and a booking for the service lift with a limit on how long you can hold it. None of it is difficult, but it sets the timetable, and a fitting that could take two days can take four if the lift is only available in the mornings. Ask the office early.

Section 05

Why the Same Kitchen Is Specified Differently

Thailand is not one climate as far as a kitchen is concerned. On the coast and the islands, salt in the air reaches everything, including the hinges and runners you never see, which is why hardware near the sea is specified differently. Inland and further north the air is drier and swings further between seasons, and timber moves more with it. A run of cabinetry in hard direct sun has a different worktop conversation than one in a shaded room. Same drawings, same workshop, different specification depending on where the kitchen lands.

Next step

Not sure if we reach where you are?

Send us the address, the building type and roughly when you need it finished. We will tell you straight away whether the location works, what the survey would involve and whether anything about the building changes the timetable, before either of us spends time on drawings.
